A remembrance service was held for Derrick Timmermans at The King's University College on Wednesday, February 27, 2008. Highlighted by the consoling words of Derrick's sisters, the service provided an opportunity for several hundred friends, family, roommates, classmates, workmates and professors to support each other in coming to terms with what Campus Chaplain, Julianne Gilchrist appropriately termed "the boulder that's been dropped in our river." To hear portions of the service you can download the following sections (mp3 format)
Service Opening (14 mB, 15 minutes)
Derrick's Sisters and Cousin (26 mB, 28 minutes)

BUSI 399 Leadership slideshow
My best memories of Derrick are from the BUSI 399 Leadership (2006) course, particularly the five-day hike up Berg Lake Trail to Mt. Robson. Here is a slideshow of the hike with Derrick and some of his classmates.

Blog Initiated
We are initiating this blog about Derrick to allow a place his community of friends, family, classmates and teachers to remember and honor him. Thank you for taking the time to contribute to this celebration of his energy, contributions, devotion and passions. He will be greatly missed but hopefully through this site we will find solace in our memories of his life, and our assurance of his heavenly destiny.
